Navigating the terrifying Raccoon City Police Department in Resident Evil 2 requires smart resource management and careful exploration. Hidden throughout the station are locked containers containing essential ammunition that can dramatically improve your survival odds. Among these, the second-floor shower room dial locker stands out as an early opportunity to restock precious supplies.
Finding the Shower Room Locker Code
The code needed to unlock the dial lock inside the 2F men's shower room is CAP. This three-letter combination is written on a whiteboard located in a small office room adjacent to the first-floor Operations Room. Players can easily spot this clue while exploring the first floor after obtaining the bolt cutters.
You do not need to discover the whiteboard clue in your current playthrough before using the combination. Entering the three letters directly into the dial lock allows you to open the locker immediately upon your first arrival.
How to Open the Locker and Claim Rewards
To open the locker, approach the dial lock in the 2F shower room and align the letter tumblers to spell CAP. Pressing the interact button confirms the input and opens the metallic door right away. Inside, players will find high-value ammunition tailored to their active character.
If you are playing as Leon Kennedy, the locker rewards you with Shotgun Shells to bolster your close-range firepower. Playing as Claire Redfield rewards you with Flame Rounds for her Grenade Launcher, giving you crucial tactical options against tough enemies.
Tactical Value of Early Resource Gathering
Unlocking containers early in the game prevents unnecessary backtracking through dangerous hallways filled with zombies and other threats. Conserving resources while maximizing ammunition stockpiles helps maintain steady progress during intense encounters.
Taking the time to crack all combination locks ensures your inventory remains well-equipped for late-game challenges. Mastering these small exploration details provides a distinct advantage as you explore deeper into the police station.
